Image guidelines

Following these guidelines is our best advice for success.

A cute pet and a great photo = a winning formula

Follow our quick-tips for entering a photo that fits what we are looking for:

11 ''
8.5 ''

Size & Shape

Our calendar prints horizontally, on 11 by 8.5 inch paper – for this reason vertical or square images will be taken out of the running. Also make sure you image is of a high-enough resolution to be printed that large (at least 3000 pixels wide).

Composition

Your pet is a star! Make sure they are in focus and that the background compliments them. Our judges are looking for great composition, content, originality, technical quality and visual impact. Colour photos only please.

Seasonality

Don’t shy away from picking a photo that highlights a season or holiday – it’s a calendar after all!

Entering a photo with more than one pet? Just remember that you can only enter one photo per pet. So if you have a photo of your cat and dog together, that would count as an entry for both pets. We also have the refer-a-friend function, and that allows you to enter another photo of your pet should you chose to.
